Revealed: Answers to the First Challenge

The Writers Crusade Challenge answers revealed:

The secret, albeit not exactly a secret because close family obviously know, was that my mother really did rip my big toenail off when I was a kid. I was standing behind the open bathroom door waiting for her to come out and she pushed it shut, not knowing I was there. Took the whole nail off. She didn’t realise until she came down later to find blood all over the furniture

The bit about the rifle is completely true – I have never shot a rabbit but then I didn’t say I had. My brother has shot plenty with the same rifle over the intervening years.

The quirk is my itchy feet and yes, I really did live in Peru for two and a half years.

The lie is that I have absolutely NO intention of going to Thailand. If I move again the furthest east I go will be Israel – well done, Devon πŸ™‚

The annoying habit is that I really am horrifically messy. The ex I mentioned was in the police force, if anyone was wondering about the drugs raid thing πŸ™‚

I am an excellent cook, even though I say it myself. Another ex, during the long distance portion of our relationship, was frequently heard to lament the lack of my cooking in his life. My best character trait is that I am very nurturing, to the point where I will cook and yes, do laundry for people I care about.

Horse riding really is my favourite thing in the world. In case anyone was wondering, the amazing locations where I have ridden horses were all in Peru, including mountains, rainforest and desert. In the mountains the roads are dirt and the safest thing to gallop on, hence “full gallop on an open road”.

Judging by the comments, only one person worked out my lie – I wonder how the judges did? πŸ˜€

Wow – I am so sorry for your big toe! I had a similar accident when I was ten. Used my foot as a bike brake and took off my toenail. Guess who didn’t do that anymore!

Fellow crusader – nice to meet you!

  2. Ouch! I’ve had a door run over my toe–it didn’t rip the nail off completely, and that alone hurt!

Love the way you put in the lie!
